The Season For Resurrected Dreams

It seemed like a dream, too good to be true, when God returned Zion’s exiles. We laughed, we sang, we couldn’t believe our good fortune. We were the talk of the nations – “God was wonderful to them!” God was wonderful to us; we are one happy people. And now, God, do it again – bring rains to our drought-stricken lives so those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest, So those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing. Psalm 126 MSG

I have always been a dreamer. Not a daydreamer, but a dreamer of dreams from the Lord. When God gives us dreams He expects us to hide them in our heart and believe and know that they will surely come to pass.

Some of our dreams can be so vivid that when we awaken we feel as though they are real, or that we were actually there. But the fulfillment of dreams is always in God’s timing not ours. And the closer we get to our dream, the more impossible they seem.

In this season God desires to awaken His children in the area of unfulfilled dreams. God will cause the circumstances of our lives to come into alignment with the dreams he has placed in our hearts long ago. Despite the way things look at the present time, when God causes our dreams to manifest our reality will seem as if it is only a dream. Selah!

Some years ago while in prayer God spoke to my heart concerning dreams. I have only shared this word twice before. Once when I was teaching a writing workshop because I wanted to inspire the students. And the other time was with the women in my prayer group. But I feel now it is time to share it with you, because God desires to resurrect your dreams.

Dare to dream, to believe for the impossible.
Dare to speak of what you want to see of the Lord.
Dare to even think of what you wish, hope, or imagine
could happen to you.
What is your wildest dream? Dream that dream!
Send the devil running by My word.
When he makes a suggestion to your mind don’t entertain it – cast it out! Instead of giving voice to it and declaring what he says, call those things that be not as though they were, until they are.
Never agree with your adversary!
The minute you give voice to what he says you come into agreement with him, and you become the fuel in his gas tank.
You give him what he needs to run full speed ahead to make things happen. Speak My Word!

Just recently I was about to compromise on a dream I had been waiting on for years, only to settle for less than what I really wanted, just because it didn’t seem possible.

As I began to take steps towards the compromise I heard in my spirit, “Don’t give up on your dream.”

At that moment I knew God wanted to give me exactly the desire of my heart. I began to talk to Him about how it could so because nothing seemed to line up. Then about two weeks later the Lord spoke to my heart once again, this time saying, “Go after your dream.”

At His instruction I started taking steps of faith in the direction of my original dream, and against all odds my dream became a reality.

As I stepped out God had positioned people to help me, and when I got discouraged they encouraged me to not give up. When God is ready to bless you, even the people around you must come into alignment with His plan or get out of the way, because nothing will stop it!

Merriam-Webster defines a dream as this:

  1.  A series of thoughts, visions, or feelings that happen during sleep.
  2. An idea or vision that is created in your imagination and that is not real.
  3. Something that you have wanted very much to do, be, or have for a long time.

Just because much time has passed it doesn’t mean that God has forgotten our dreams. In this season, the manifestation of our dreams is closer than we realize.

When God has our heart and our greatest desire is for Him - the giver of dreams, more than the dream itself,  God will give us what we long for.

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He will give us the desires of our hearts. Psalm 37:4.

No good thing will He withhold from those who walk upright before Him.
Psalm 84:11b

It's time for us to take our dreams off the shelf, dust them off, and go after them! And God will order our steps as we move out in faith.

There was a time when I was afraid to dream because I didn't want to be disappointed if they didn't become a reality. I wasn't walking by faith. I was allowing fear to stop me from receiving what God had for me.

Whatever God puts in our hearts, He will bring to pass.  God doesn't tease or dangle carrots before our eyes and then not let us have what we desire.

Do you hold a dream in your heart that seems impossible of fulfillment?

Whatever you do, don’t give up on your dream!

Blessings,

Kathy R Green

  1. Wow! What a wonderful post Miss Kathy! Thank you for sharing. It is exactly what I needed at this very crucial stage in my life. Definitely adding this to my home screen on my phone. I remember when I didn't dream much anymore because I was afraid too! I prayed and asked GOD to allow me to dream again. He answered that prayer and now I just tuck them deep in my heart, but I want the courage, strength, and wisdom to pursue them. When we delight ourselves in The LORD, I believe our dreams become mere echoes of what HE desires. Thank you again Miss Kathy! Give yourself a BIG hug for me! Love You!
