"COME" God's Call to This Generation

A few weeks ago God instructed me to ask three people to review my new release COME. When I posted it on my Face Book page I had no idea who would respond, or what they would say about my book. Below is the first of three reviews I will share here on my blog. I was pleasantly surprised by what the first reviewer had to say. I'm sure you'll be blessed her words! "COME" Book Review by Melody Green

 This is a most priceless honor for such an awesome book. I had been praying for God to send me a book that I would enjoy reading and that would edify me on a deeper, spiritual, and personal level. When my mom told me about “COME” and that you had one more book left I thought maybe that was God answering my prayer. Now that I have had the chance to indulge I know that COME is Heaven-sent.
I begin by saying thank you for the opportunity to review your book, “COME”.

The words written in this book relate so closely to my personal life, I will find it quite difficult to properly review it without telling a bit of my life’s story, so please bear with me and hear my heart.

Growing up I was bullied. My parents were here for me, but I still felt alone. I reached out to social sites such as MySpace and black planet (the popular social sites at that time). That was a place where I could be somebody, a place where whatever was on me in reality, or should I say in me didn’t matter. The thing that made people treat me differently no longer existed. I felt accepted and wanted by the world. Because of the exposure of so many things I began building a new character and taking on a new persona. COME shows you that we should be seeking attention from God instead of the world and everything that would draw us away from God.

I wish that this book COME was in my life when I was a young girl, it was such an unguided time in my life. The book shows you all the necessary steps on how to successfully embark upon the journey in building a firm relationship with God, as well as living a proper Christian lifestyle. Right now in my life I’m pulling on and seeking God for an even closer relationship.  As I spend time in God’s presence I pray that he will reveal himself to me even more. Throughout this book I have been reassured that God is seeking me as well.

I love that every chapter in this book has a prayer at the end.  It provides closure and gives readers a chance to address God in every area that has been touched on in each chapter.

Growing up in a Christian home as a preachers daughter, I always knew the things of God. My foundation was built on the word, and I received great Godly counsel. Yet and still something was missing. For as long as I could remember I was picked on at school, and was never treated like the rest of the kids.  This drew me away from everything I had been taught. It led me on a treacherous journey of finding myself, when really I was looking for love in all the wrong places.

“Unfortunately, when we’re young, what we think is real love is only infatuation or lust, and when we give in to them they can take us down a path to emotional turmoil, confusion, heartbreak, depression and more.” Kathy Green -LOOKING FOR LOVE? pg 55-56

I love the way that the author of COME, Kathy Green relates to real issues that we as young teens and young adults face from day to day. I struggled in this area a lot. Instead of seeking God for Love I begin to seek people for love. I had my first boyfriend at the age of 17 and he was very nice at first which led me to be sexually intimate with him. This started another phase in my life.  I thought that I was in love. Shortly after, was the beginning of life changing moments.  He became physically abusive to me.  Instead of leaving him, he apologized and I accepted.  Because of the soul tie that had been formed I believed the lustful lie.  He said he loved me and that’s why he got mad at me, because he doesn’t want to lose me.  I fell for it and continued the abusive relationship that was full of physical, mental, verbal, and at times sexual abuse, all for the sake of what I thought was love.

I knew I had feelings for him, but by reading this book I have been able to finally put a name on what I was feeling for him. COME helped me figure out it was just infatuation, and lust which stimulated anger and control in him.  I must say so I’m grateful to be able to understand the feeling that I felt; I know the difference now.  Thank you, thank you, Mrs. Kathy Green

“If we hold a grudge against those who have mistreated us or abused us, the Lord won’t be able to help.” Kathy Green LET IT GO pg.46

I call LET IT GO the MAKE or BREAK chapter.  I started to cry as I begin to read it.  I felt something breaking within me. For such a long time I had been mistreated and I thought I had forgiven and forgotten my past.  As a read it I began to have flashes of those bad times in my life. Immediately I began to apply the lessons, advice, and scriptures from the book to my life and recurrence of old feelings.  At the end, there was an awesome prayer that said everything I wanted to say but just did not know how to.  I believe I conquered any unforgiveness that was still left within my heart; again grateful.

This book has allowed me to identify so many things that took place in my life and are still taking place as of now. This book has edified me so deeply.

“When we’re empty inside we have a tendency to look to outward things to satisfy our inner longings. We’ve all felt it - longing for fulfillment ad satisfaction. Some people try to fill up on food, like I’ve done at times. Some use extreme exercise, some shop excessively, some use sex, and some drugs or alcohol, but the emptiness doesn’t go away until we turn to God, because everything we need is in HIM. He is the sustainer of life, the only true source of spiritual fulfillment.” COME AND FILL UP Kathy Green pg. 76

COME is so easy to read and I love the play by play. THIS BOOK INTERTWINES SO PERFECTLY WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE.  COME is a perfect match for anyone who is on the journey of following Christ.

I’ve learned on an extensive level, how important prayer is in my relationship is with God. We must pray in order to communicate with God. There was a time when I heard somebody call my name really loudly and it sounded like my father.  I was able to identify that God was calling me to prayer, kind of like he missed me. That is so profound to me. COME has opened up my eyes to how much God really wants me.

Through the course of reading this book it has brought me to a deeper understanding and relationship with God.  My spiritual senses have been yet again awakened and heightened.  I know that I have been transformed deeply by each chapter.  I recommend this book to people of ALL ages. COME has something for everybody. I would read this book over and over again as a reference for being successful in life.  I was blessed by EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER.
