On Sunday November 14th a small group of my family and friends gathered at Walt Garrison's Restaurant in Flower Mound, Texas to celebrate the release of my first book Pray-ers Bear Fruit. All glory went to the Lord as my family and I shared about our journey to see this dream become a reality. Many were inspired, and a wonderful time was had by all who attended. I was also blessed to have my beautiful Mother come all the way from Michigan to be a part of this special event.
As I reflect on the day, what resonates in my heart and mind is the goodness and faithfulness of our God. Releasing my first book has literally been a dream come true for me. It was about ten years ago when God gave me a dream of my future. Some dreams we have are just the result of eating too late at night, but there are other dreams that we know are from the Lord. I can still remember the dream as if I dreamed it last night. In the dream I was at a book signing, sitting at a table as people lined up to have me sign their books. The moment felt so surreal as I held my book in my hands. I looked at it carefully as if I couldn't believe it had really come to pass. I turned the book over to look at the back cover and to see the name of the company which had published the book. When I woke up from the dream, great feelings of joy and happiness flooded my heart.
God was speaking to me by way of a dream, to show me that He had a special plan for my life. To celebrate my book release has left me with a deep sense of gratitude and humility. Sure, I had to be relentless in pursuing my dream, and yes I went through a lot to accomplish it, but it was well worth the fight. So no matter how long it takes, or what happens along the way, if we are faithful to God, He will be faithful to do what He promises to do in our lives. Our role is to simply trust Him, wait on His timing, and never give up on our God given dreams for He will surely bring them to pass.
