I've always been rather quiet and kind of reserved some might say. But my son recently said to my husband, "I've never heard mom talk so much." I was unaware of this private conversation that had taken place between my boys, so I had to inquire as to just what my son was referring to. I didn't realize it, but now that I'm entering into my purpose and stepping into my dream, I'm talking a whole lot more. And it's because my heart is overjoyed. I'm feeling more happy and excited than I've ever been before. And even the joys of being a wife and mother, and doing all the things I've had the privilege to do, nothing can compare to what it feels like to fulfill my purpose.
It was in the secret place that I discovered God's purpose for my life. I had grown weary of my day to day activities, and I felt deep inside that there had to be more to life than what I was experiencing. After diligently seeking the Lord in prayer, I finally discovered my purpose. God often takes those things that seem to come so easy and natural for us, and He uses them to bless others, and bring glory to Himself. These natural tendencies are really gifts from the Lord. Even from childhood, God had placed within me a love for writing, and a love for people. English was always my best subject in school, and my compassionate heart and gift of encouragement always seemed to draw people to me. They would open up to me and share all about their struggles. In essence, I was created to encourage others and spread the good news of the gospel in book form. And in just a few short weeks my very first book will be released to the world. I've spent many years preparing for this time in my life, and I know the best is yet to come.
Do you know your purpose? Can you identify the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given you? If money were no object, what would you do with your life to make a difference in the world? God created you for a specific purpose, but you have to spend time with Him to know what your purpose is. As you seek the Lord, He will begin to show you a vision for your future, and He will speak to your heart about the assignment He has for your life. We must all go through a process, a season of refinement, a qualifying period if you will, to prepare us for our destiny. But it's in those times that we grow spiritually strong to do what God has created us to do. It takes time, but God wants to see just how determined we are about our purpose. The stories of Moses and Joshua are classic examples of people who had a purpose to fulfill who also went through a time of preparation before they fulfilled their destiny.
God never intended for our life here on earth to be boring and mundane. He wants us to fulfill our purpose, live in our dreams, and walk in our God given destiny. In other words, He wants us to be happy and fulfilled. Dr. Myles Monroe, one of the greatest teachers on the subject of purpose once said, "The cemetery is one of the richest places on earth because books, businesses, or the cure for a disease are all buried there because so many have died without fulfilling their purpose."
Bless you,
